A peasant girl with a heart condition falls for a noble count who is enchanted by her dancing. The girl dies from a broken heart. Scorned, her spirit seeks revenge by forcing him to dance himself to death. Her love overpowers her hate and she forgives him, allowing her spirit to finally rest.
