- 9:30 AM1h 15mOnline Pedagogy Workshop Series: Maximizing Canvas and Other Digital Tools for Online and Blended LearningNew in 2024, ND Learning’s Office of Digital Learning will host a series of workshops leading up to the start of the semester to support all Summer Online Instructors, or any instructor interested in online pedagogy. In this workshop, participants will learn how to use their Learning Management System (LMS) and other digital tools effectively to create engaging and supportive online and blended learning experiences. Having the opportunity to explore Canvas and other tools, participants will learn how to create and deliver course content, facilitate online discussions, administer assessments, and provide feedback to students. Drop in anytime during our open hours, April 2–7, for some artful family fun! Explore the Museum together with a gallery guide that's fun for all ages. Stop in the studios and create a custom sketchbook to hold all your creations. Learn about slip-cast ceramics and handmade greeting cards through interactive demonstrations with artists from Corvilla's Studio Five9 Monday–Friday, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Don't forget to stop by Ivan's Cafe for a special spring break treat (for purchase). Come when you can and stay as long as you like. All are welcome. Activities are designed for children age 4 to 10.

Co-sponsored with the Department of Africana Studies, the Initiative on Race and Resilience, and the Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts.  When: Thursday, April 4th | 7:00pmWhere: IRR Sojourner Truth Commons of 300 O'Shaughnessy Hall  Jamel Brinkley is the author of Witness: Stories (2023, Farrar, Straus and Giroux/4th Estate), a finalist for the Kirkus Prize in Fiction, and A Lucky Man: Stories (2018, Graywolf Press), which was a finalist for the National Book Award, the Story Prize, the John Leonard Prize, the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize, and the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award; and winner of a PEN Oakland Award and the Ernest J. Gaines Award for Literary Excellence. His writing has appeared in A Public Space, Ploughshares, Zoetrope: All-Story, The Paris Review, American Short Fiction, The Yale Review, Guernica, The Threepenny Review, Gulf Coast, Glimmer Train, The Believer, and Tin House, and has been anthologized twice in The Best American Short Stories. His work has also received support from the Callaloo Creative Writing Workshop, the Napa Valley Writers’ Conference, the Tin House Summer Workshop, the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and the Lannan Foundation. He was a Carol Houck Smith Fellow at the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing, a Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, and has received an O. Henry Award and the Rome Prize.
