As information for the May Commencement Weekend unfolds, pages will be updated. This typically happens in February and March. - 12:00 AM23h 59mDeadline for Submissions (Extended): Contributions for the National Sustainability Society ConferenceBalancing social, economic, and environmentally sustainable practices requires revolutionary action. While climate change, biodiversity loss, socio-political polarization, pollution, public health, and other related issues remain vital concerns, no outcomes are predetermined. Through individual initiatives and collaborative efforts in the near and distant future, humanity is still capable of both mitigating or even reversing adverse trends. A just and sustainable future is within our power. The second Annual National Sustainability Society (NSS) conference, taking place at the University of Notre Dame, welcomes those in academia, industry, nonprofits, and governments to come together and share contributions that focus on transformative change for a just and sustainable future. The NSS especially encourages submissions from emerging scholars and early career professionals. NSS considers contributions that showcase both research and application. Scholarship on sustainability topics, work featuring case studies, best practices, collaborative interdisciplinary or cross-sectoral projects, or other works that connect to the NSS conference themes are welcome. NSS welcomes panel discussions, symposia, individual presentations, flash talks, posters, spark sessions, and workshop contributions on the following sub-themes:Putting sustainability research to work Fostering collaboration for a just and sustainable future AI for (or against?) sustainability Cultivating transformative change in agriculture Moving forward with sustainable transportation Transforming the future of sustainability through the humanities Spirituality as a catalyst for sustainability transformation A just and circular futureFor complete theme descriptions, submission guidelines, key dates, and other information, please visit the NSS website.
