The application window is now open for the Research and Scholarship Program (RSP) – Regular Grant (RG). This grant program aims to support Notre Dame faculty researchers and programs that advance the University’s research enterprise, scholarly output, and creative endeavors through a competitive funding process, with a particular emphasis on elevating excellent projects that are not currently eligible for existing external research programs.

Patricia L. Clark, associate vice president for research and Rev. John Cardinal O'Hara Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, said, “Notre Dame Research is pleased to offer this funding opportunity for another cycle. I encourage regular faculty members to apply, particularly those with pioneering ideas for advancing knowledge and improving technologies in service of the common good.”

The deadline to apply for the program is 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, Friday, January 9, 2026.

The RSP-RG provides up to $100,000 of total funding to support a new standalone project or a major innovation connected to established research. The grant may be used to augment funding provided by Notre Dame Colleges or Departments. Excellent projects in areas unsuitable for funding by an external funding agency or foundation will be prioritized.
