The Center for Culinary Excellence (CCE) is home to one of three food waste systems that reduce non-consumable food waste from the dining halls and the CCE by 99 percent. These Grind2Energy systems will reduce overall waste, campus-wide, by 10 percent, or 700,000 pounds per year. That’s waste that would otherwise combine with other trash to produce methane, a potent greenhouse gas, in local landfills. The North and South Dining Halls are home to the remaining two G2E locations.
