Professor Nitesh Chawla's research has led to groundbreaking advancements that bridge foundational research with real-world applications, driving innovation and societal impact. This work has earned recognition across four leading scientific societies—AAAI, ACM, AAAS, and IEEE—highlighting its influence in engineering, computing, sciences, and AI.

He has spearheaded global collaborations to ensure that AI serves as a force for good, fostering inclusive advancements that benefit diverse communities. As founding director of Notre Dame's Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society, he and his team are pioneering data-driven and AI innovations that tackle society’s toughest challenges, all while empowering communities through education and innovation.
