Designed to help children develop their visual and verbal literacy skills, Artful Storytime is a partnership with the St. Joseph County Public Library. Each Artful Storytime includes stories, songs, artwork explorations, art-making, and more! We’ll be reaching for the stars this month as we explore cosmic creations! This program is best for families with children ages 4 to 6. Parking is available in the Visitor Lot immediately north of the Sculpture Park for a fee during the week (before 4:30 p.m.). Free two-hour parking is available in the Eddy Street Commons Parking Garage or along Angela Blvd. After 4:30 p.m. and on weekends, parking is free and available in any non-gated lot. If traveling via South Bend Transpo, take the No.7 bus and use the stop for Eddy St. Commons (at the intersection of Angela & Eddy St).

RESERVE YOUR FREE TICKETS Back for another round of delightful Shakespearean shenanigans, ShakeScenes will brighten the stage at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center like never before. A perennially popular event featuring community members of all ages from the South Bend area performing scenes from and inspired by Shakespeare, ShakeScenes provides two hours of adorable, moving, and hilarious entertainment. This FREE and family-friendly performance has introduced thousands of children across the area to Shakespeare ever since its inception.Originally published at shakespeare.nd.edu.

This series is a successful partnership bringing a tradition usually found in large city centers to this thriving urban environment in the heart of South Bend. Screenings are free to the public and held at the Gridiron at dusk (approximately 9:30 p.m. – weather permitting). Viewers are invited to bring their picnic blankets, chairs and snacks. This drop-in tour will introduce you to your Raclin Murphy Museum of Art. Join a student gallery teacher or a member of the Museum staff to explore the architecture of the building through some of its most unique spaces and discover works of art that are highlights of the collection. Meet at the Welcome Desk. All are welcome and no registration is required. This tour will explore all gallery levels of the Museum. Although the tour will keep moving between spaces, gallery stools are available upon request.

Check out the newest StoryWalk® in Michiana! We’ve partnered with the St. Joseph County Public Library to bring this exciting national project to the Charles B. Hayes Family Sculpture Park from July 1–September 2. StoryWalk® combines experiencing nature with reading together as a family. Our StoryWalk® will explore the book What’s New Daniel? by Micha Archer. Read together, do fun activities, and enjoy the art and nature of the Sculpture Park! The story begins off the Hiler Family Terrace behind the Museum near Clement Meadmore’s sculpture UPBEAT (look for a black sculpture that looks like it’s dancing at the start of a path into the Sculpture Park) and continues east on a paved, gently sloping path.
