- 11:00 AM1hKorean Names: Pronunciation WorkshopMany of us struggle to pronounce names that sound foreign to us and attempting to do so can make us feel uncomfortable or nervous. In such a situation, we may ask use another "easier" name, a nickname, or even avoid addressing the person at all. Unfortunately, doing so can lead to the person feeling invalidated, excluded, and otherized. This workshop aims to help participants develop understanding and empathy for our peers, students, and ourselves. By the end of the hour, you'll have new context to make meaning of naming phenomena, tangible linguistic knowledge and skills to help you more confidently and accurately pronounce Korean names, and some take away resources for you to continue to practice on your own. Register Now!
