Snap Elections in Germany (LCW)

Wednesday, February 12, 2025 3:30–4:30 PM
  • Location
    117 Decio Hall
  • Description
In November of 2024, the German government collapsed, forcing early ("snap") elections that are scheduled for February 23. The abbreviated election campaign took place amidst turmois created by a major terrorist attack, unprecedented misinformation campaigns staged by foreign actors, and general populist unrest around the world. What does the election portend for the future of Germany, the European Union, oand of democracy in the twenty-first century? Join us to discuss these issues with three faculty experts: Prof. Rüdiger Bachman (Stepan Family College Professor of Economics), Prof. Tobias Boes (Chair of the Department of German and Russian), Prof. Mark S. Jacobs (Assistant Professor of Democracy and Global Affairs).

https://cslc.nd.edu/news-and-events/events/2025/02/12/snap-elections-in-germany-lcw/
