ND Mobile App Privacy Policy

The ND Mobile application (“ND Mobile” or “ND Mobile App”) is an integral part of the University of Notre Dame’s mobile presence to the public and the Notre Dame campus community. ND Mobile does not gather or store information from users and does not systematically sell or make available personally identifiable information to outside parties, except under special circumstances, including but not limited to Notre Dame's good faith belief that the law requires disclosure, or for other internal University purposes or programs.
Personal information collected by ND Mobile
ND Mobile does not collect personal information of its users. Users can provide personal data such as name, email, or phone numbers in response to our feedback or request forms. None of this data is stored within the ND Mobile App. Any data that is collected is collected through the websites, applications, or forms the ND Mobile App connects to. The ND Mobile App itself does collect information on the device type and geographical location of that device - information provided publicly through the use of the device.
Aggregated Information
Aggregated information, such as usage statistics; which modules, screen, and links users visit, is collected through the platform provided by Modolabs inc. One of these ways is through an IP address, a number that is automatically assigned to your device whenever you are surfing the Web. When you request a page from ND Mobile, Modolabs’ servers log your IP address. Modolabs does not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable, so although your session will be logged, your session will remain anonymous.
Use of Cookies
ND Mobile uses cookies to automate the process of logging on to certain areas of the site. The ND Mobile App cookie is a small data file stored on your computer that contains a single, randomly assigned user ID number. By recognizing this ID number, ND Mobile can automatically provide you with the personalized content for which you requested. Cookies can neither read any other files on your computer, nor damage your computer. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. If you’d prefer, you can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent.
Use of Information Collected by Modolabs
Modo collects two data types through Modo Analyze, precise location for app functionality and usage data for analytics. The data collected is not linked to the user's identity nor is it used for tracking purposes. Modolabs uses both the personal and aggregated information collected to improve the content of the site and to customize the content and/or layout of the site.
Information Security
Access to data is limited and can only be accessed by specific individuals who have the necessary username and password combination.
Children and Privacy
ND Mobile will not contain content that is reasonably considered unsuitable for children.
Links to Other Sites
ND Mobile App may contain links to public sites not under the control or management of the University (local transportation providers for example). Note: those external sites may not follow the same privacy policies as ND Mobile.

Changes to the Privacy Policy
University of Notre Dame reserves the right to change the privacy policy on use of information collected by the ND Mobile App. Any changes in policy will be noted in a revised privacy policy statement. You may direct any privacy policy questions to mobile@nd.edu.
