This exhibit commemorates the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War (1939-45) using primarily European visual sources recently acquired by Rare Books & Special Collections. It showcases more than 40 works on paper, including posters, maps, propaganda ephemera, and illustrated books, as well as photographs and first-hand accounts. The exhibit explores themes of Nazi racial ideology, the Holocaust, children in war, resistance, liberation, and memories of war. By examining images created for personal use and for state-sponsored propaganda, the exhibit presents a visual narrative of the war’s profound impact on individuals and societies, offering deeper insight into how this war was experienced and remembered. This exhibit is curated by Natasha Lyandres, Curator, Rare Books & Special Collections; Jean McManus, Catholic Studies Librarian, University Archives; and Julia Schneider, German Language and Literature and Italian Studies Librarian, Hesburgh Libraries. This and other exhibits within the Hesburgh Libraries are generously supported by the McBrien Special Collections Endowment. All exhibits are free and open to the public during business hours. The Notre Dame Band presents its annual Commencement Concert. This performance marks the final time that senior band members will perform at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, and is a preview for the band's international tour program. Selections on the program will include wind band classics, orchestral transcriptions, jazz tunes, and some traditional Notre Dame favorites. This concert is free and open to the public! This is a free but ticketed event. Tickets will be available for pick-up at the Ticket Office one hour prior to the performance. To guarantee your seat, please pick up your tickets at least 15 minutes prior to the show. In the event of a sell-out, unclaimed tickets will be used to seat patrons waiting on standby. The Institute for Social Concerns Send-off Ceremony with Notre Dame President Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C., and Vice President and Advisor to the President Rev. Hugh R. Page, Jr. Congratulations, Class of 2025! All students who have participated in and been formed by courses at the Institute for Social Concerns are invited to attend a ceremony that celebrates a commitment to the common good. Cords will be given to students completing the Catholic Social Tradition Minor and Poverty Studies Interdisciplinary Minor. Following the ceremony, families and friends are invited to attend an evening of celebration, food, and drinks. Review the 2024-25 academic calendar. The University of Notre Dame’s 180th University Commencement Ceremony will take place on Sunday (May 18) at Notre Dame Stadium. It will also be livestreamed on the University’s YouTube channel. Adm. Christopher Grady, the vice chairman and acting chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will be the principal speaker and will receive an honorary degree along with six others. Kerry Robinson, chief executive officer of Catholic Charities USA, will receive the 2025 Laetare Medal, the oldest and most prestigious medal given to American Catholics. Weather permitting, graduates will process into the stadium at 9 a.m., and the ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m.Please review the Commencement web pages (https://commencement.nd.edu/) for important information, including the Schedule of Events page. As information for the May Commencement Weekend unfolds, pages will be updated. This typically happens in February and March.

The Glee Club presents its annual Commencement Concert in DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, with the musical selections chosen by this year's graduating seniors. The program will include classical choral music for men's voices, folk songs, spirituals, and songs of Notre Dame. GET TICKETS
