Join us for thematic tours inspired by our solo temporary exhibition by Clarissa Tossin, entitled All That You Touch, You Change. These focused experiences in the galleries seek to more deeply consider works of art in light of one of three central themes that are interwoven through the Tossin exhibition: Indigenity, the Environment, and the Cosmos. During the tour, participants will engage with works from the exhibition space as well as selected pieces from our permanent collection. Our goal is to foster a broader conversation about the connections between art, culture, and the world around us. Join us on Friday afternoons for Encounter: Conversations on Catholic Social Tradition, lectures by distinguished scholars in the field of Catholic social teaching, who will share their insights and provide critical conversation on matters of justice and the common good. Reception to follow. Victor Carmona is associate professor of theology and religious studies at the University of San Diego. Carmona’s research advances theological-ethical analyses of migration with a global perspective grounded in Latinx points of view. His dual aim is to draw from the wisdom the Catholic tradition offers to create more just immigration systems and to nurture its ability to do so in increasingly pluralistic and interdependent societies. Sacred Music at Notre Dame MSM organ student Catherine Trausch will present a recital entitled "Lux in tenebris lucet." This recital is a musical meditation on the Trinity as the divine source of all light, seen through the eyes of a soul longing for, and ultimately embracing, perfect union with the Light in the eternal splendor of heaven. The program features music by Bach, Vivaldi, Buxtehude, Correa de Arauxo, Weckmann, and Reece-Trapp. This is a free but ticketed event.
