Presented by Notre Dame Film, Television, and Theatre by Olivia Seymour '25Directed by Matt Hawkins As the political climate of 1960s California heats up, sisters Lisa and Cassie find themselves on either side of the growing counterculture phenomenon. While Lisa is content with her simple life of running her late mother’s diner and trying to start a family, Cassie desires more for herself, wanting to be a great singer and leave behind all she knows. With the hippie movement on the rise and the Vietnam War continuing to escalate, Lisa does her best to protect her family from the world while Cassie finds herself inevitably drawn into it, causing a divide between the sisters and their ideas of what it means to be a young woman in a rapidly evolving country. Olivia Seymour's HEART ON FIRE is the official selection for Notre Dame Film, Television, and Theatre (NDFTT)'s 2024 New Works Lab. The New Works Lab is a program developed alongside the Musical Theatre minor that allows for students to develop and stage a musical that they have written as part of NDFTT's theatre season. This drop-in tour will introduce you to your new Raclin Murphy Museum of Art. Join a student gallery teacher or a member of the Museum staff to explore the architecture of the building through some of its most unique spaces, revisit familiar favorites from the collection, and discover works of art on view for the first time. Meet at the Welcome Desk. No registration is required, but each tour is limited to twenty participants. This tour will explore all gallery levels of the Museum. Diversity, along a range of dimensions (e.g., cultural, racial/ethnic, sexuality, gender, neurotype,disability, etc.) offers both challenges and opportunities to any relationship. This session is designedto provide scholars the knowledge and skills to: 1) improve and expand understanding of howdiversity influences mentor-mentee interactions and 2) recognize the impact that conscious andunconscious assumptions and biases bring to mentoring relationships and how to manage them. Anxiety Toolbox is a 3- part structured psychoeducational workshop designed to inform students on the cognitive, behavioral, and physiological impacts of anxiety. The sessions include modules dedicated to: (1) understanding anxiety, (2) introducing a method for slowing down and disentangling the experience of anxiety, and (3) developing alternative responses to anxiety. By the end of the workshop, students will have their own individualized plan for managing anxiety. Students will be expected to complete homework (e.g., Cross Sectional Formulations, practicing deep breathing) in between sessions. Facilitator: Jordan Jonson, Ph. D.
