The largest college library in the world when it opened in 1963, features a 132-fee high and 65-feet wide "The Word of Life" mural (nicknamed "Touchdown Jesus" because it appears to loom over the north goalpost in the Stadium) composed of 81 different types of stones from 16 countries. It joins other libraries on campus—collectively called the Hesburgh Libraries—to contain approximately 3.4 million volumes, more than 135,000 electronic titles, more than three million microform units, and more than 43,000 audiovisual items in support of learning, teaching and research.

Website

Virtual Tour
