Geddes Hall is the first building at Notre Dame to receive a LEED accreditation (Gold rating) in 2010. During the construction of this building, 31% of the building materials were manufactured within a 500-mile radius, ultimately reducing transportation emissions. Low-flow plumbing fixtures also reduce water consumption by 45%, and the landscape design utilizes an irrigation system with control technology and drip irrigation, reducing water consumption by 58%. Showers have also been included in this building to promote bicycling commuters.
