Founded in 1869, the Notre Dame Law School is the oldest Roman Catholic law school in the nation. William hoynes was appoinetd the first dean. At first it was hosted in Crowley hall, but in 1930 it moved to the current Biolchini Hall on God Quad, that had a coutroom and a beautiful library. in 2005, the Eck hall was added, increasing the space and the resources of the Law School. Notre Dame Law School brings together centuries of Catholic intellectual and moral tradition together with modern practice and the current legal system.

Regarded as one of the best Law Schools in the midwest and in the nation, Notre Dame Law School awards around 180 degrees every year. At its core it has Catholic values and ethics, making it a unique place to study law.
