Bob Fosse’s Oscar-winning Cabaret brings the 1966 musical to the screen with dazzling flair. Set in 1931 Berlin at the decadent Kit Kat Klub, it follows a love triangle unfolding against the backdrop of a crumbling Weimar Republic. With bold editing, iconic numbers, and haunting political undertones, Cabaret is a genre-defying mix of joy, chaos, and heartbreak.

In his new quartet, Javier Red is composing for and making music with Dakarai Barclay (trumpet), Jake Wark (tenor sax), Jeff Wheaton (bass), and Daniel Gayden (drums). The quartet serves as a vehicle for musical exploration along three lines: the rhythmic pulse and repetition rooted in West African music traditions, the creative personalities of the band members, and the continual reinvention or reinterpretation of both Javier's original compositions and music from great jazz composers such as Monk, Henderson, Coltrane, and Shorter that have a special connection with Javier's rhythmic explorations. Museum galleries will be open so you can explore the work of art paired with the performance. Series curated by Stephen and Mary Merriman of Merrimans’ Playhouse.
