- 7:00 PM2hUZIMA! Drum and Dance presents "ASHE: Prepare Ye the Way"UZIMA! Drum and Dance Company returns with another unforgettable evening of powerful music, movement, and storytelling. Rescheduled from the 2024/2025 season, ASHE: Prepare Ye the Way is a journey down the road less traveled, following in the footsteps of trailblazers such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Mary Church Terrell, and other visionaries who paved the way for peace and progress.Through the art of music and dance that has transformed the course of humanity, this event honors the legacies of those who fought for justice and unity and invites audiences to reflect on their role in continuing that journey.Together, we'll explore the spirit of resistance, hope, and transformation via UZIMA!'s distinctive collaborative practice and leadership in cultural advocacy. From the bold steps of the civil rights movement to the quiet strength of community change-makers, we'll celebrate the unquenchable thirst for change that forever compels us forward, as suffragist and activist Terrell wrote, "lifting as we climb." GET TICKETS This event is part of the Presenting Series' Cultural Collective, programming supporting equitable artistic development in our community.
