Passover, known as Pesach in Hebrew, is one of the most significant festivals in the Jewish calendar. Passover is also known as the "Festival of Freedom" and the "Feast of Unleavened Bread." It commemorates the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt, as narrated in the biblical book of Exodus. Passover begins on the 15th day of the month of Nisan in the Jewish calendar and lasts for seven or eight days, depending on tradition and location. The festival is marked by various rituals, including the Seder meal, during which the Exodus story is retold, symbolic foods are consumed, and prayers are recited.
