This HR workshop takes a deep dive into the University's Sustainability Initiative, a core component of our 2033 Strategic Framework. Led by executive director Geory Kurtzhals and sustainability program manager Olivia Farrington, participants will be introduced to the basics of sustainability at Notre Dame, will learn about the campus' sustainability journey, and get resources and inspiration for personal action. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:• More about sustainability work taking place across the University.• How every job on campus is a sustainability job.• Opportunities to incorporate sustainability principles into your role at the University.• Ways to support our strategic framework to create a healthier, more vibrant campus and care for our common home. Bill Schalliol, Executive Director of Economic Development in St. Joseph CountyIndiana has recently seen a surge of investment in data centers and associated energy production from major tech companies such as Amazon, thanks to favorable policy and environmental conditions at the state level. While these investments are good for economic growth, they can be a strain on the environment and use vast amounts of energy. In an event co-hosted by the Student Government Department of Sustainability and ND Energy, Mr. Bill Schalliol, Executive Director of Economic Development in St. Joseph County, will take us behind the scenes of the Indiana Enterprise Center and the process of balancing economic growth and potential environmental consequences. On September 25, join the Notre Dame Sustainability team for a walk around Saint Mary's Lake to pick up trash and help keep our campus ecosystem litter-free! In previous litter pick-ups, we've found interesting items like TVs and bowling balls! Trash grabbers, gloves, bags, and snacks will be provided. Together, we can care for our common home! There is no limit on the number of participants. The more folks in attendance, the better! Registration is not required, but encouraged, so that we may prepare materials.  Register today
