Researchers in Notre Dame’s College of Science are advancing knowledge, solving real-world problems through collaboration and innovation, and developing the next generation of scientific leaders. In five departments and numerous interdisciplinary centers and institutes, Notre Dame researchers are identifying promising ways to fight illnesses, including rare and neglected diseases, participating in international discoveries, such as the Higgs boson, learning more about stellar nuclear processes and exoplanets, addressing the challenges of big data, and advancing research in a host of other areas. These investigations further the University’s mission by expanding understanding and elevating the well-being of individuals and society.
