The MicroCT Facility is a core facility within the Computational Physics Group. The SkyScan 1172A micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) scanner allows for non-destructive, X-ray imaging in three dimensions. It has detail detectability of ~1 micron and resolution of ~3-5 microns. The facility also features optional in situ mechanical testing stages and temperature control. The MicroCT Facility is available to Notre Dame researchers, as well as other academic institutions on a case-by-case basis.
