The Freimann Life Science Center (FLSC) is comprised of two state-of-the-art animal facilities equipped to house a wide variety of vertebrates, including fish, with four zebrafish systems, frogs, rabbits, and rodents. In addition, more than 100 different strains of genetically altered mice are bred and maintained.

All animal care staff are certified through the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science or credentialed as Registered Veterinary Technicians who work together with the attending veterinarian to provide humane care for the research animals. The FLSC is fully accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC).
