Within the College of Engineering researchers from five departments are building upon the College’s traditional research strengths while also encouraging the development of new areas of growth. The College of Engineering is driven by innovation yet guided by Notre Dame’s Catholic mission to tackle some of today’s most important and challenging technical issues, including energy conversion and storage, biofuels, civil infrastructure and natural hazards assessment, next-generation wireless communication and networking, robotics, personal identification and security, biomedical imaging, biomaterials, and water and wastewater treatment.
