Aprahamian speaks at the Working Group 9 on International Cooperation in Nuclear Physics
Notre Dame Freimann Professor of Physics Ani Aprahamian was invited to give a talk to the Working Group 9 on International Cooperation in Nuclear Physics (ICNP) to report on activities of C12 on Saturday June 3, in Avignon, France. Aprahamian currently serves at the chair of the C12 Commission on Nuclear Physics of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP).
The C12 Commission supports international conferences, awards young scientist prizes in nuclear physics, and confirms new element discoveries along with the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC).The prizes are awarded at the International Nuclear Physics Conference (INPC) held every three years. The prize winners for 2022 were Ronald Fernando Garcia Ruiz of MIT (USA), Carlo Giulo Bruno of the University of Edinburgh (Scotland), and Volodymyr Vovchenko of the University of Houston (USA). The next INPC will be held in 2025 in Daejeon, Korea.
