Notre Dame Law School Welcomes Four New Clinical Faculty Members for 2025–26
Notre Dame Law School is pleased to welcome four new clinical faculty members for the 2025–26 academic year.
“It is an honor to welcome such a distinguished group of clinical professors to Notre Dame Law School. Their impressive achievements and deep sense of vocation will enrich our academic community and strengthen our mission to form Notre Dame lawyers who lead with intellect, integrity, and faith,” said G. Marcus Cole, the Joseph A. Matson Dean and Professor of Law at Notre Dame Law School.
New Clinical Faculty
Grace Mills ’15 JD has joined the Law School as an associate clinical professor of law and director of the Law School’s Intellectual Property Clinic. She previously served as a partner at Finnegan LLP in Washington, D.C., representing clients in district courts nationwide, before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She also clerked for Chief Judge Kimberly Moore of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and earlier worked as a patent agent, drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Mills earned her JD from Notre Dame Law School and has a BS in electrical engineering from Northwestern University.
"I couldn't be happier to be returning to Notre Dame Law School. I am grateful for this exciting opportunity to expand the intellectual property offerings at the Law School, and I look forward to building a clinic where our students will gain fluency in intellectual property law by providing hands-on legal services to innovators, creators, educators, and artists in our community," said Mills.
David Pruitt ’92, ’99 JD has assumed a new role as associate clinical professor of law and will serve as the faculty director of the Law School’s Eviction Clinic. Pruitt has been with Notre Dame Law School since 2017, previously serving as director of the Clinical Law Center and overseeing the Eviction Clinic. Before joining the Law School, he practiced in law firms in Washington D.C. and South Bend.
A double Domer, Pruitt earned his BBA in finance from the University of Notre Dame and his JD from Notre Dame Law School.
“It is an honor to join the faculty of the Notre Dame Law School. The faculty are fully committed to developing the whole person while in law school, which makes this a very special and unique place. The students are smart, passionate and committed to being the best version of themselves. I am excited to continue working with them,” said Pruitt.
Ashley Sanchez has joined the Law School faculty as an associate clinical professor of law and director of the Law School’s Immigration Law Clinic. She previously served as supervising attorney at Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services in Cleveland, Ohio. She also practiced in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Jones Day, where she participated in the firm’s Laredo Project at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Sanchez earned her JD from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law and dual BA degrees in Spanish and International Studies from Ohio University.
"I was drawn to Notre Dame Law School specifically because of its unique culture. Notre Dame faculty and students genuinely feel called to use their unique gifts to serve others. I am honored to join this incredible community and to share my passion for this work," said Sanchez.
Caleb Stone has joined the Law School faculty as an associate clinical professor of law and director of the Law School’s new Veterans Law Clinic. He previously served as professor of the practice at William & Mary Law School, where he co-directed the Lewis B. Puller Jr. Veterans Benefits Clinic, helping clients secure more than $6 million in past-due benefits and over $40 million in lifetime expected benefits. He also co-created and directed a certificate program on disability compensation, William & Mary Law School’s first significant online education initiative.
Stone earned his JD from William & Mary Law School and a BS in Political Science from Kennesaw State University.
